Accountant

Randstad Senior Finance is partnering with the global leader in calibration services to find a dedicated Accountant for their Australian headquarters in Vermont on an initial interim contract with the capacity to work up to 12 months.

The Opportunity

As the Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing monthly closing tasks and strengthening financial reporting and internal controls across all ANZ entities. You will ensure the accuracy of financial statements in accordance with professional accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Month-End Management: Lead the monthly closing process, coordinating with AP and AR teams to ensure prepayments, payroll accruals, and fixed asset depreciations are accurately posted.

• General Ledger Integrity: Post and monitor accruals and maintain the integrity of the general ledger through regular reconciliation with supporting documentation.

• Balance Sheet Control: Monthly preparation and reconciliation of all Balance Sheet schedules.

• Internal Controls: Implement and monitor robust key controls to ensure the completeness of financial statements, including P&L cut-offs and variance analysis.

• Asset & Inventory Management: Maintain the Fixed Assets Register and manage inventory accounting and reconciliations.

• Reporting & Compliance: Export trial balances for Group reporting and support the Finance Leader in preparing internal reports and annual statutory financial statements.

• Ad Hoc Projects: Support the Country Manager and Finance Leader with data analysis and initiatives to drive process automation.

Ideal Candidate

This business is looking for a technically strong professional who brings a positive, collaborative energy to the team.

• Education: CA or CPA qualified.

• Experience: At least 3 years of relevant work experience in a similar general accounting or financial control role.

• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of technical accounting standards and a meticulous eye for detail.

• Systems: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Previous experience with MS Dynamics Business Central (BC) is considered a significant advantage.

• Attributes: A "can-do" learning attitude with the ability to meet strict corporate deadlines.

• Process Improvement: The ability to analyse end-to-end transactional processes and recommend efficiencies.
